iSisters Adds New Director
iSisters Technology Mentoring, an award winning provider of technology skills through mentoring, is pleased to announce the appointment of Hannah King, Associate General Counsel at Shopify, to its Board of Directors.
Hannah King completed her law degree at Dalhousie University and has over two decades in the practice of law. She joined Shopify in March 2016 and her responsibilities include transactions, employment, international compliance and general corporate/commercial matters. Hannah believes strongly in the vision and mission of iSisters, and along with corporate governance as a director, will be responsible for providing legal guidance to the charity.
Hannah King will be formally presented as part of iSisters’ board of directors’ slate to be voted on at the organization’s annual general meeting on October 20, 2020.
“I am very excited to have a woman with such broad experience to join our board and know that she will contribute to our success as we scale our programs for greater impact,” said Claire Toplis, iSisters’ Chair. “We believe her expertise and insight will help iSisters as it grows and secures new program partnerships in Ottawa and beyond.”
iSisters designs and delivers community-based technology learning programs in partnership with community organizations that support women in need. Through technology skills development, mentoring and coaching we aim to increase earning potential and economic independence for women in need, thereby strengthening the family and the community as a whole.
