iSisters’ programs enhance employability skill development, provide a critical and effective stepping stone to improved quality of life, and initiate long term and high impact positive change for marginalized women.

Each program is designed in collaboration with the partner organization and customized for the specific learning needs of the students. While each program is unique, all programs aim to help women: learn about technology, explore career options, encourage life-long learning, gain self-esteem, improve earning potential and economic independence.

iSisters learning programs are aligned to ISTE NETS (International Society of Technology in Education National Education Technology Standards) and the Conference Board of Canada’s Employability Skills 2000+.

Technology Mentoring for Young Mothers

Technology Mentoring for Young At-Risk Mothers is a new program that expands iSisters’ workshops into the new Bethany Hope Centre for Young Parents. Students will gain digital literacy skills which will enable them to return to and succeed in high school and prepare for employment. The program builds community capacity to support at-risk, young parents.

Through this project, our goal is to offer young at-risk Moms a full set of digital and media literacy skills, as well as mentoring in new communications technologies at the new Bethany Hope Centre, free of charge to them and to Bethany Hope, in a familiar and safe environment.
